BJC Behavioral Health Offering Free COVID-19 Counseling Through Grant

There is “hope” during COVID-19.

Thanks to the Missouri Department of Mental Health’s “Show-Me Hope” grant program, BJC Behavioral Health (BJC BH) is providing free crisis counseling to anyone negatively impacted by the pandemic.

In 2017, BJC BH participated in the Show-Me Hope program for those in the region affected by flooding. Now, the federally funded crisis counseling program has been reborn for COVID-19.

The BJC BH program offers five crisis counselors, including a child and family specialist, and provides:

Crisis Counseling – Assistance dealing with fear and anxiety, and education on coping, resiliency and stress management skills

Resources and Referrals – Help locating and accessing community agencies that provide various types of assistance

Disaster Preparedness and Education – Tips on helping prevent the spread of COVID-19 and preparing for future crises

“BJC Behavioral Health is ready to offer hope and help as we walk through this collective trauma together,” says Angie Liefer, MEd, LPC, crisis counseling program manager. “Our trained counselors are available to provide virtual or phone counseling to individuals or groups.”

This program is free, confidential and open to everyone. To access services, call 314.747.7492.
