Trish Lollo, president of Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, has accepted the role of St. Louis Children's Hospital president, effective Sept. 3.

During her three-year tenure at BJWCH, Lollo has led the hospital's long-term strategic plan and campus transformation. "Her efforts, and the collaboration of the entire team, will ensure that Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital continues to deliver exceptional patient care in a state-of-the-art new environment," says Joan Magruder, BJC group president.

In her new role, Lollo will report to Magruder.

Bob Cannon, Barnes-Jewish Hospital president and BJC group president, says he and Magruder are working together to develop a comprehensive transition plan that will ensure a seamless and on-time opening of the new hospital. "The Barnes-Jewish West County leadership team is strong, all the right plans are in place, and we're confident our opening will be a success," Cannon says.

Lollo joined BJC in 2011 as vice president of oncology services at the Siteman Cancer Center and Barnes-Jewish Hospital laboratories and radiology. At Siteman, Lollo led strategic planning and operations for inpatient and outpatient services. She also fostered multidisciplinary care efforts within clinical programs and played a vital role in increasing Siteman's national presence.

Prior to joining BJC, Lollo served as an associate administrator of oncology services for the University of California San Diego Health System, where she oversaw the delivery of cancer care at two hospital campuses and the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, also a National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Lollo previously held several positions at New York University Medical Center, including administrative director of the Hassenfeld Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Lollo earned a master's degree in public health from Yale University and a bachelor's degree in biology from Stony Brook University. She serves on the board of directors for BJC Home Care and is a member of the American Cancer Society's CEOs Against Cancer St. Louis chapter. Lollo also serves as the executive sponsor for the BJC Global Connection group.

SLCH vice president and chief nurse executive Peggy Gordin, who has served in the interim SLCH president role for the past several months, will return to her regular full-time role, once Lollo officially joins SLCH.

"We'd like to thank Peggy for serving in the interim St. Louis Children's Hospital president role," Magruder says. "Her willingness to step in and seamlessly keep St. Louis Children's Hospital operating with stellar performance has been admirable, and we're grateful for her commitment and dedication."
