HEALTH FAIR 2019 promoted wellness in the community

HEALTH FAIR 2019 was held July 20 at the Ferguson Community Empowerment Center, as area residents stopped by for free health screenings and to visit numerous educational booths. HEALTH FAIR 2019 also included the Siteman mammography van. Educational booths were provided by community resources including St. Louis County Public Health, Washington University Sickle Cell Program and Stop the Bleed, among others. The event also featured a kids’ fun area and healthy snacks. St. Louis Children’s Hospital helped kids make first-aid kits and provided vision, hearing and asthma screenings.

CH and the Salvation Army, partners in the Pathway to Health program, hosted HEALTH FAIR 2019,
in partnership with the City of Ferguson, Southeast Ferguson Community Association and Alpha Kapa Alpha Sorority Inc., Omicron Theta Omega Chapter. Funding for this project was provided in part by Missouri Foundation for Health. The Pathway to Health initiative addresses the lack of access to affordable care and the need for increased health knowledge and chronic condition management for African Americans and others, while also working to eliminate socio-economic disparities.
