John R. Beatty
BJC Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
John Beatty is senior vice president and chief human resources officer for BJC HealthCare, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health care organizations. With more than 31,000 employees, BJC is the largest employer in the St. Louis region and one of the largest employers in Missouri.
Beatty has responsibility for all aspects of the human resources organization including strategy, planning, recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits. He leads the Human Resources Leadership Team, a cross-organizational team of human resources professionals from BJC’s hospitals and health services, focused on sharing best practices across the organization.
Prior to joining Barnes-Jewish in 2007, Beatty served as vice president of administration with Robbins & Myers, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, he had responsibility for human resources, information technology and administration activities for the corporation. He has also served in leadership roles with several corporations including DT Industries, Rockwell Automation,General Electric and Cincinnati Milacron.
Beatty has demonstrated success in executive recruiting, leadership development, training, engineering management, operations and sales and marketing. He has extensive experience in the application of Lean manufacturing techniques and in positioning the human resources function as a strategic resource for the organization.
Beatty graduated with distinction from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Beatty has also been active in the communities in which he has lived, serving on the boards of nonprofit organizations associated primarily with education, the arts and youth sports.
Beatty is a native of Ohio and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
