Riham El-Lakany

Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications

Riham El-Lakany is the senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer (CMCO) for BJC HealthCare. As CMCO, Riham oversees BJC’s brand and market presence, executive and internal communications, digital strategies, customer experience, and media relations. She champions the BJC mission: "to improve the health and well-being of the people and communities we serve through leadership, education, innovation, and excellence in medicine,” by delivering marketing and communication strategies that position BJC HealthCare as an industry and community leader committed to service.

Prior to joining BJC in 2022, El-Lakany was the chief marketing and communications officer for Freddie Mac’s single-family business in McLean, Virginia. In this role she led business growth, retention marketing and sales strategies; created a brand repositioning strategy; and devised a comprehensive marketing strategy to drive adoption of technology solutions.

Before joining Freddie Mac in 2017, El-Lakany served in several executive marketing and communication roles at Marsh LLC in New York City; Prudential Financial in Newark, N.J.; Zurich Financial Services in New York City; ACE Group in Philadelphia; and American International Group in New York City.

She earned her master’s degree in economics from New York University and her bachelor’s degree in economics from American University in Cairo, Egypt. In 2020, she was named a Woman of Influence by HousingWire magazine. Ragan Communications, Inc. and PR Daily named her a Top Woman in Communications in 2021. El-Lakany is a member of Peer 150 Marketing, Ellevate Global Professional Women's Network and Forbes Marketing Council.
