When construction winds down and most workers have moved on, the work of the BJC activation team accelerates. Activation is the non-construction process of getting the tower ready for patient care - a well-orchestrated installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment, signage, graphics, artwork and more to be ready for patients and visitors.

Every bathroom for each of the 280 private inpatient rooms is constructed in a controlled environment in a Bridgeton, MO warehouse and transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
