Lobby Renovations Have Begun

March 2023 - Major renovations in the Plaza Lobby will begin March 27 – the first of several phases of work. Over the next two years, the main and street level lobbies will undergo a complete renovation as part of the Plaza Entry component of the Campus Renewal Project.  Construction to renovate this section of the lobby and gift shop will continue through late 2023.

The demolition of the flooring and walls will be very noisy and take place overnight during the week, between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. Weekend work will begin Friday evening around 6 p.m. and continue through Monday morning at 7 a.m.

Noise and vibration monitoring devices were installed, and testing was done last year to determine how far the noise and vibration may carry. Thresholds were established for pausing work. The monitors will signal the construction team when thresholds are exceeded.

The elevators and escalators between the street- and main-level lobbies will remain open and accessible during this phase of construction. The coffee bar, West Pavilion elevators and other destinations in the main- and street-level lobbies are not affected at this time.
