Tower Crane Removal to Affect Kingshighway

Work Continues Weekend of Nov. 8

November 2024 - A short two and a half years ago, two tower cranes were erected along Kingshighway Blvd. to lift and move equipment and supplies for construction of Plaza West Tower, the 16-story inpatient facility at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Those cranes have lifted and placed literally tons of materials and supplies.

Work to disassemble the second tower crane will continue this upcoming weekend, impacting two lanes of northbound traffic on Kingshighway:

  • Starting at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, work will continue, with the closure of two northbound lanes of Kingshighway, just north of Barnes-Jewish Plaza. One northbound lane will remain open; southbound traffic will not be affected. Contractors expect to complete the crane disassembly before morning rush hour, Monday, Nov. 11.

Be sure to watch progress on the webcams.
