The new inpatient therapy gym is centrally located on the 2nd floor, placed among the 16 rooms serving joint replacement and reconstruction patients. Most of the same therapy specific features that exist today are present in the new space, but the new space is smaller because more therapy care is provided in patient rooms and the hallways. The therapy space has a non-working residential bathtub for bathroom transfer activities, but not a step-in shower. Rather than a dedicated therapy work space, therapy staff utilize the shared workspaces on the floor.
Dedicated therapy storage space is available on the 3rd floor. Therapy steps/stairs are strategically placed at the end of the hallways on the patient care floors to be more readily accessible to the patients residing in those areas.
