The new ICU is adjacent to the emergency department. It has four patient rooms including one negative pressure room and one for dialysis. All rooms have ceiling lifts, e-ICU technology, Oneview TVs for patient education and entertainment, patient wardrobe, recliner and family couch that opens as a bed. The ICU also has a consult room and family waiting room.
A pneumatic tube station improves efficiency by transporting specimens to the lab.
The ICU and emergency department share a med room, clean supply room, equipment room, break room and soiled utility. Trash chutes move linen and non-biohazard trash.
