April 2021 - The week of April 26, workers will attach crane rigging to the 24,000-pound steel frame, saw cut the steel from the two buildings, lift it over the vacant Queeny Tower, and lower it within the demolition site along Barnes-Jewish Hospital Plaza.
April 2021 - The long-shuttered pool on the rooftop of Queeny Tower has left the building. Demolition workers with Ahrens spent several days jackhammering out the concrete, sliding the 15,500-pound pool structure out of the former solarium turned mechanical room and onto the open rooftop.

The Kingshighway skyline will undergo another significant change as part of BJC’s long-term campus renewal project. Queeny Tower, an iconic fixture that has stood at the corner of Kingshighway and Barnes-Jewish Plaza 55 years, is being razed for future hospital expansion.
Queeny Tower Restaurant was a destination in its day, known for its ambiance, fine dining and stunning views across Forest Park. When the last meal was served in November 2016, some long-time employees shared their memories.
