May 2022 - A perhaps little-known, but big impact component of BJC’s Campus Renewal Project is what the project team has titled the Plaza Entry Project.
The 3+ year project will include a complete transformation along Barnes Jewish Plaza, including a new lobby in the garage and pedestrian bridge, new and expanded drop off, and renovated and expanded street and main level lobbies. Exterior work starts in June, followed by interior work next year.
April 7, 2022 - On Friday, April 8, work will begin to assemble a second tower crane on the Campus Renewal Project site at Kingshighway and Barnes Jewish Plaza. Detours will start at 5 p.m. Friday and continue through the weekend.
Sept. 2022 - BJC, Tarlton Corporation and McCarthy Building Companies have launched a Construction and Healthcare Career Resource Center – Thinking Beyond Today. An open house is being held Sept. 20, with local union representatives, school adminstrators and BJC representatives. The Center is located at Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s Campus Renewal Project on Kingshighway.
March 2022 - When you think of an industry dominated by men, construction might be one of the first that comes to mind. The Campus Renewal Project is doing its part to change that. Dozens of women, from architects and engineers, to carpenters and project managers, are setting an example for a more diverse future. Meet just a few of the women of Campus Renewal.
March 2022 - Before the concrete foundation floor and walls can be poured and the new 16-story hospital tower can start to rise from the ground, drill rigs are digging holes into bedrock below for 60+ piers to support the building. Excavators are digging soil and loading it into trucks to haul away. Five feet at a time, an earth retention system and shoring is installed surrounding the site.
